Message from the Office of Student Affairs
I would like to express our warmest
welcome to you all at the start of the
new academic year.
The Year 2012-13 marks a significant
LANDMARK for both the University
and ou r s t uden t s : The 3+3+4
academic reform not only brings in a
double cohort of students to the University this year, it also
brings out an enhanced meaning of university education. It
stimulates betterments in academic curriculum, University
infrastructure, students’ experiential learning programmes
and student support services. All these enhancements are
for our students.
For the new students, I assure you that life at CUHK is full of
excitement and challenges. Be ready to embrace all the new
experiences and changes as you embark on a new chapter
in your life. As you can see from this publication, e.g. under
Spotlight’ and ‘CU Scope’, various programmes are now
made available on campus to assist you to settle into your
life in CUHK more efficaciously.
For the students who are coming back after the long summer
break, do spend some time to explore the new buildings and
facilities on campus. As was in the past, many interesting
activities are waiting for you. I sincerely hope that you would
continue the momentum in self-development which you
started sometime back when you first joined the University.
Indeed, the University has so much to offer to you. The
Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Colleges, Faculties, and
many other units of the University have put together a variety
of programmes and activities for the all-round development
of our students as they advance along the educational path
at the university. So, stay tuned and get the most out of your
university life! To benefit from all that the University offers,
be proactive and open-minded, and do plan in advance.
I sincerely wish you a rewarding and SIGNIFICANT year
ahead!
Warmest regards,
Raymond Leung
Director of Student Affairs
