A Great Start to Career Planning and
Interpersonal Development
Campus Recruitment Ambassador Programme has been organized since 2012. Under the Programme, ambassadors will
join Career Planning and Development Centre of the Office of Student Affairs to greet the employers during recruitment
events, assist the logistic arrangements, promote the career events through different channels and take up the role as a
Master of Ceremony in the event! Over 80 ambassadors from different faculties took part in the Programme during the
first semester of 2016-17.
The Programme aims at providing ambassadors
with opportunities to
• Explore more career options in different
industries
• Practise communication skills
• Enhance personal career development
through interacting with employers from
various industries
Dorothy Hon (PACC/Year 4)
Being a campus recruitment ambassador has been a very fruitful experience for me.
On top of gaining extra opportunities to have small chats with future employers and
HR professionals, I have learnt a lot of event management skills by assisting and
being the MC in various recruitment events.
The biggest takeaway from my MC experiences is learning to be spontaneous and
responsive. After being the MC in the recruiting talks of HKMA, Deloitte and PwC, I
have learnt that every employer has different expectation on the MC. Therefore, we
need to be prepared to include any extra information that employers would require
us to introduce to the audience in the opening speech, as well as to coordinate with
the representatives of the company to ensure the event can run smoothly.
SamuelWu (SEEM/Year 4)
I joined the Campus Recruitment Ambassador Programme since it is a precious
chance to network with my potential employers. I applied for this Programme without
hesitation in August because I believe it is a concrete chance to nurture my growth
lying ahead.
I was responsible for greeting prospective employers and keeping every talk run
smooth as an ambassador. My first assigned recruitment talk was KMB. It was also
my first chance to be the MC. Serving as MC on behalf of my university is a solid
honor for me. This experience has encouraged me to step forward and give the
speech confidently although I was nervous and shy to talk in front of a crowd.
Career planning is a hot topic among final year students. The ambassador
experiences do not only enrich my personal resumes but also broaden my horizon.

Campus recruitment ambassador is a rewarding experience to learn both technical
and interpersonal skills. As a matter of fact, it is my first time to be MC of any
event. When I was the MC for Oliver Wyman company presentation, I had the
chance to interact directly with the business representatives and had the first-hand
information of their experiences and advice, which were of great help to my career
planning and personal growth.
I had similar experiences when I was the MC for Accenture and HKET company
presentation. Besides, I also took up the role as an ambassador in Point72’s and
Microsoft’s recruitment talks, where I gained deep insights regarding the industry.
The Campus Recruitment Ambassador Programme is indeed an interactive and
flexible platform for you to unleash your potential and broaden your horizons. If you
have the aspirations to make a difference, do join now!
