Huang Lu

Born in China, Huang and other leftist poets founded the poetry society Guangzhou Shishe 廣州詩社 and its magazine Guangzhou shitan 廣州詩壇 [Guangzhou poetry] at the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945). After the fall of Guangzhou to the Communist armies in 1949, Huang and other Guangdong poets fled to Hong Kong where they continued to write and publish. His essays appeared in local newspapers such as Sing Tao Daily 星島日報. His collected works include the poetry volume Hong he 紅河 [Red river].
