Yuan Ni 袁霓 [pen name of Jeanne L. Yap 葉麗珍]

She was born in Jakarta, and in 1972 saw her first publication in a local newspaper. With her works of fiction, occasional prose, and poetry published in Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other Asian cities, she established herself as one of the most prolific Chinese-language writers in Indonesia. She has also been the chair of the Perhimpunan Penulis Tionghoa Indonesia 印華寫作者協會 (Association of Chinese-Indonesian Authors) since its foundation in 1998.
