Translation and Interpreting is a rapidly growing area in the   School of Modern Languages with a strong research profile and distinctive   teaching provision.                 Applications   are invited for the above post. It is expected that the successful candidate   will make a significant contribution to the research profile of the subject area   in particular and to the research culture of the School of Modern Languages in   general. He or she will be responsible for teaching and examining on both the MA   in Translation and the MA in Interpreting in his or her areas of research and   teaching interests, and will also play a full part in the administrative   activities of both Translation and Interpreting, and of the School of Modern   Languages. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable interest in the   recruitment of international students. 
                 
                Applications are welcome from   suitably qualified candidates who have research interests in in any area of   Translation and/or Interpreting Studies, and demonstrable teaching interests   and/or relevant professional experience in both translation and interpreting.   Preference may be given to those applicants whose teaching interests are   complementary to those of staff already in post.
                
                Applicants must have a   primary degree, with a PhD at or near completion in a relevant discipline. The   successful candidate will display evidence of a high quality publication record   (commensurate with stage of career) and evidence of the potential to sustain and   improve research performance. He/she must have relevant teaching experience at   tertiary level and demonstrable native or near-native fluency in a language   other than English.
