Chen Weilue 陳維略 (Chan Wai-Leuk) 1923-2008

A native of Nanhai, Guangdong province, was born into a literary family. Chen was self-educated as a teen during the Japanese occupation, and later served as headmaster of schools in Nansha, Macau and Hong Kong over a span of twenty-six years. He continued his pursuits in classical prose and poetry after his retirement, and lectured on Shiji 史記 [Records of the Grand Historian] at the Hok Hoi Library. His publications include Chen Weilue shiwenji 陳維略詩文集 [Collection of Chan Wai-leuk's poetry and prose] (1990).
