Long Yingtai (Lung Ying-t'ai, S. Ying Tai Walther) 1952-

Contemporary Taiwan writer and critic who also writes under the pen-name Hu Meili. Graduated from Cheng Kung University and received her PhD from Kansas State University in English literature. She has taught at various universities in the United States and Taiwan, and is a prose writer as well as one of the most influential literary critics in Taiwan. In 1985, she published the book Long Yingtai ping xiaoshuo [Long Yingtai's fiction criticism] and a volume of essays entitled Yehuo ji [Wildfire].
