Mu Zhongnan (Mu Chung-nan) 1912-
Mu grew up in Heilongjiang and was educated at Beiping Chinese University. During the war with Japan, he worked in Shenyang and was at one time arrested by the Japanese military. In 1948, he went to Taiwan and worked as a newspaper editor and university lecturer.
Selected works: Kunan zhong zhangcheng [Growing up in hardship] (1969), a largely autobiographical account of his childhood, and the novel Ku yin [Bitter drink] (1972).
