Rong Zi (Jung Tzu) [real name Wang Rongzhi] 1928-

Rong Zi was born in Jiangsu where she was brought up as a Christian. She moved to Taiwan in 1949 and established herself as the leading woman poet there. In 1953 she published her first collection Qingniao ji [Messenger bird] and became an important member of the Blue Star poetry society. Despite her reputation as a modernist, her work is heavily influenced by classical literature.
