Xia Guo [real name Yuan Keping] 1915-1985

Columnist and literary critic, Xia Guo was active in Hong Kong literary circles from 1945. He wrote for the newspaper Takungpao 大公報 and was editor of the literary magazine Wenyi shiji 文藝世紀 from 1957 to 1969. Many of his essays he published in his column depict various aspects of Hong Kong life and society. Among his most important works are Xianbu ji 閑步集 [Taking a stroll] (1974) and Shiyu ji 石魚集 [Stone fish] (1975).
