Project Site: Resettlement Site @ Anbang Village, Wama Township, Baoshan City, Yunnan

       Xiaohe Village in Wama Township was hit by a natural disaster of mudslides in August 2022. Since the team had carried out rammed-earth building project there and also obtain recognition from the local goverment and villagers, the local government decided to relocate 1st batch of affected households to Anbang village and use our anti-seismic construction method to rebuild new houses for 30 households.

Nov 2022 - 1st Investigation Trip

After discussion, the collaboration model will be established with the government responsible for urban construction infrastructure, water and electricity, and other basic facilities. The local contractor will be in charge of organizing villagers and participating in the construction of rammed-earth building; 1U1V team will provide technical training, equipment loans, and housing subsidies and incentives.

The construction of 18 houses was completed, and the villagers are gradually moving into new houses.

 

Sep 2023

The main construciton works of 18 households were completed. It is expected to be completed in Feb 2024. However, due to the impact of land policies, the remaining 12 earth houses will be relocated to a resettlement site in Ji town instead.
