Project Site: Baipo Township, Miyi County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan

       With the completion of several anti-seismic rammed earth demonstration projects in Miyi County, the County Officials increased their understanding and confidence in such anti-seismic rammed earth construction technology. They are willing to promote and apply this technology by rebuilding the houses for 7 households who are Yi immigrants living in Baipo Township need to improve their living environment urgently. Meanwhile, the team hopes to train up a Yi immigrant team through the project so that they may get income from building these rammed earth houses in the surranding areas in future and improve cohesion among ethnic groups.

Nov 2019 - 1st Investigation Trip

In mid-Nov, the team investigated and learned about the villagers’ livelihood. Seven farm houses have been selected for the rebuilding project.

Dec 2024

All main construction work was completed and passed inspection, and most villagers have moved into their new houses.

Dec 2023 - Jun 2024

One earth house was completed and accepted for inspection. In addition, a total of 7 earth houses were completed the main construction phase. Due to the overall poor economic situtaion in the society, the villagers have insufficient funds for renovation, resulting in a slight delay in the progress.

Sep 2023

Main construction of six houses were completed.

May 2023

The team started a new project in Baipo Township to build another 8 rammed earth houses.

Jul 2021

Even though the work progress was slow down under the Covid-19 pandemic, the team overcome various difficulties and finally completed all construction work for 5 households before rainy season in July.

Mar 2021

Main construction work for other 3 households was completed in Mar. In addition, 5 households came from other villages nearby expressed their wishes to join the reconstruction plan and planed to start construction in Apr.

May 2020

The team completed the construction work for 4 households by May. The work for other 3 households is scheduled to complete before Dec this year.

Dec 2019
