Earth Building Research & Development Centre

       Through the cooperation with the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Kunming University of Science and Technology (KMUST), we have improved the construction technology and seismic performance of the earth construction. In order to carry out more earth construction projects in Yunnan region in future, the team plans to build Yunnan Earth Building Research & Development Centre (Centre) in KUMST campus. The research activities at the university and its convenient location make it an ideal place for domestic and internatiional academic exchanges. The centre will primarily serve the following functions:

1. To carry out long-term artisans training, teach local villagers new seismic earth construction technology, form long-term stable construction team, and increase the villagers' self-reliance to improve rural endogenous development.
2. To provide space for conducting experiments, research and practical study, as well as providing office and accommodation for the full-time staff and storage of construction tools and project materials.
   
3. To showcase the technologies and achievements of new seismic earth construction, and to conduct domestic and foreign exchange learning activities for all levels of goverment, domestic and foreign professionals and students.
