Yanran’s research focuses on engineering cell niches using the Multiphoton Microfabrication and Micropatterning (MMM) platform. This novel screening tool enables her to rapidly fabricate and test synthetic microenvironments to identify optimal conditions that alter cancer cell fate. The ultimate goal of her work is to translate these findings into the design of innovative and targeted therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.
Outside the lab, Yanran is a deeply artistic person, finding a creative counterbalance to her methodical scientific work through painting and drawing, which allows her to explore expression and form in a more intuitive and free flowing manner.
