由校董會主席岑才生先生慷慨贊助，書院及書院校友會合辦之「二零零四至二零零五年度聯合書院學長計劃」現已開始接受報名。學長計劃旨在提供機會讓書院校友與在校同學互相認識，透過一對一的交流模式，建立友誼，分享生活及工作體驗，從而提高在校同學的心智發展，擴闊視野，增強自信，改善溝通技巧。本計劃亦設有海外學長，讓參與國際交換計劃的同學能透過海外學長的輔導，在文化及生活交流方面得到更大的幫助。

United College Mentorship Programme 2004/2005

Applications are now invited for the United College Mentorship Programme 2004/2005. This programme is jointly organized by the College and the Alumni Association and supported by a generous donation from Mr Shum Choi-sang, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees. It provides an opportunity for alumni and undergraduates of the College to interchange through sharing of life and learning experiences. The Programme is designed to help students improve their interpersonal and communication skills, develop their social awareness and broaden their knowledge base. The programme will also recruit overseas mentors to provide support to students who have planned to take up exchange programmes during the year. Application forms are available at the Dean of Students’ Office, United College. They can also be downloaded from the College website http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/uc/whatsnew/whatsnew.html. The closing date for applications is 8 April 2004.

二零零三至二零零四年度全年最佳學生團體獎

書院為鼓勵學生團體積極服務同學，每年特設「全年最佳學生團體獎」。本年度的獲獎團體是在二月十一日舉行的學生會聯席會議上經學生代表推選產生，結果由聯合書院扶輪青年服務團奪得，獎金為港幣一萬元。獎項安排於三月十九日舉行的書院聚會中頒發。

2003-2004 The Best Student Organization of the Year Award

Aimed at encouraging student bodies to improve their delivery of services to its members and fellow students, the College established The Best Student Organization of the Year Award. In the Student Union joint meeting held on 11 February, the student representatives nominated the United College Rotaract Club to be the award winner this year, and the award will carry a cash prize of HK$10,000. The Rotaract Club will receive this award in the College Assembly to be held on 19 March 2004.

聯合書院海外教育考察計劃 – 澳洲墨爾本

聯合書院學生交換計劃委員會將挑選十二至十六名同學於二零零四年五月底至六月到澳洲墨爾蒙立殊大學進行四星期的學習、考察及生活體驗計劃。參加同學可透過不同形式的活動如講座、研討會、訪問與參觀活動等，認識澳洲的教育制度及多元文化社會。考察期間，同學將被安排入住於當地家庭，一方面親身體驗澳洲生活及風俗人情，更可提升本身的英語能力。

United College Overseas Study Tour Programme – Melbourne, Australia

The College will select a team of 12-16 students from different disciplines to visit Melbourne, Australia in late May to June 2004 for four weeks to participate in the captioned programme. Through lectures, visits to local schools and departments and interactions with host families, students will have the opportunity to understand the educational system and culture of Australia.

聯合學生會消息

本院第四十二屆學生會幹事會選舉已於二月十六日至十九日進行投票，並於二月二十日下午二時半在院長馮國培教授、輔導主任劉行榕教授、院務主任戴朝明先生及學生會選舉委員會主席范子全同學監察下於「學休」進行點票。是次選舉共有645位同學投票，佔學生會會員總人數百分之二十七點一。其中對唯一候選內閣「和怡合道」投信任票者共595人，投不信任票者7人，投棄權票者17人，另廢票26張。結果「和怡合道」順利當選，由三月一日起正式出任第四十二屆學生會幹事會。新幹事會成員名單如下：

UNITED COLLEGE STUDENT UNION NEWS

The 42nd United College Student Union Executive Committee election was held from 16 to 19 February 2004. The ballots were opened and counted on 20 February 2004 at 2:30 pm in the College Student Common Room under the supervision of Professor K P Fung, Head of College; Professor Alaster Lau, Dean of Students; Mr C M Tai, College Secretary and Mr Fan Tsz Chuen, Chairman of United College Student Union’s ad hoc Elections Committee. A total of 645 students (27.10%) had cast their votes in the election. “So United” the only cabinet standing for election, was elected the 42nd United College Student Union Executive Committee by 595 votes to 7, with 17 abstentions and 26 invalidated ballots. The newly-elected office-bearers have assumed office on 1 March 2004. Their names and positions are as follows:
