CUHK Chemistry Summer Camp 2018

Venue: The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)
Target: Students who have strong interest in applying for the MPhil-PhD Program of Chemistry, CUHK in Fall 2019
Aims: To provide potential applicants of the MPhil-PhD Program a good opportunity to understand the research in the Department of Chemistry, CUHK and to experience CUHK campus life
Content: Lectures, laboratory visits, experience sharing, individual meetings
Fees: Free of charge

The CUHK Chemistry Summer Camp is organized by the Department of Chemistry, the Chinese University of Hong Kong every year for senior undergraduate students and postgraduate students, who have strong interest in pursuing PhD study of chemistry in CUHK. The CUHK Chemistry Summer Camp 2018 will be held on July 16-20, 2018, and is now open for application. The program of this summer camp will include briefings on research of individual professors, campus tour, visit of laboratories, individual meeting with professors and meeting with postgraduate students. After the CUHK Chemistry Summer Camp, selected students will receive conditional offers of admission to the MPhil-PhD program of the Department of Chemistry, CUHK in 2019. Outstanding students will be recommended to compete for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). Students who have strong interest in applying for the MPhil-PhD program of chemistry in CUHK in Fall 2019 are welcomed to apply for the Chemistry Summer Camp 2018. The following application documents should be sent by e-mail to “chemgrad@cuhk.edu.hk” on or before 15 May 2018 (*New*).

** Completed application form;
** Curriculum vitae;
** Copy of official transcript (with a complete record of courses attended and examination results) of all tertiary level studies;
** Copy of official score report for English assessment (if available);
** Copy of certifying letter (with official stamp) for your ranking in the class with total number of students (if applicable);
** Any materials that the applicants think helpful to the applications.

Selected applicants will be invited to attend the Chemistry Summer Camp. Non-local participants of the Chemistry Summer Camp will be provided on-campus accommodation free of charge for four nights. Further details of the summer camp including possible cash travel allowance for non-local participants will be sent to selected applicants via email by the end of May.

Important Information for non-local applicants: Visitors to Hong Kong must hold a valid passport/travel document. Passports should be valid for at least six months after your planned departure date from Hong Kong. Persons who need a visa/entry permit for visit should obtain the appropriate visa/entry permit before travelling to Hong Kong.
