As a caring University, CUHK seeks to promote positive educational outcomes for its students and is committed to promoting equal opportunities in academic pursuits for every student.

As part of our on-going effort to establish an inclusive campus, the University is introducing a new tool called Ally into our University Learning Management System (Blackboard) in Term 2 of 2018-19.

Ally helps improve the accessibility of the course content in Blackboard by (i) automatically generating "alternative formats" of the content files for students, and (ii) displaying the ˇ§Ally Indicatorsˇ¨ next to the content files to provide detailed feedback to teachers and support staff on how to improve the accessibilities of the content files. Depending on the type of the content files, students may find some or all of the options below available:

Details on the operation of Blackboard Ally are available at https://help.blackboard.com/Ally/Ally_for_LMS/Instructor.

Should you have any queries regarding this pilot, please contact Ms Judy Lo of ITSC on Ext. 31711.

Thank you.
