Greater Bay Area Chinese Forum

The Greater Bay Area Chinese Forum is held on March 23, 2019 (Saturday) at Shenzhen Research Institute, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), which is organized by the Research Centre for Linguistics, Shenzhen Research Institute, CUHK, co-organized by the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, CUHK, the Department of Chinese, Sun Yat-sen University, and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, University of Macau, and sponsored by T. T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre, Institute of Chinese Studies, CUHK.

The development plan of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, comprising nine municipalities in Guangdong and two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao, plays a major strategic role in the blue print for China’s development. The Greater Bay Area Chinese Forum, the first of its kind, provides a valuable platform for the interaction among the representatives of the Chinese language and linguistics community from the related departments of the universities within the region since the launch of the development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aiming to strength the cooperation and exchange among the universities within the area, advance their studies on Chinese language and linguistics, and explore the development directions of research and teaching of Chinese language and linguistics, so as to improve the quality of Chinese teaching and learning as a whole, facilitate the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and explore new goals in the research and teaching of Chinese language and linguistics within the area.
