As Assistant Director, 2009-2011
  • Control and management of the Environmental Radiation Monitoring Programme, to determine changes in the level of environmental radiation as a result of the operation of the nuclear power plants in the region.  Formulate and implement public information strategy and service in the event of deviation in radiation levels.
  • Control and management of automatic weather observing network, lightning monitoring network, climatological observation as well as upper air sounding operation.
  • Formulation of training policy.  Lead and oversee the execution of training programmes, including public education courses.
  • Control and management of public outreach activities, including activities such as Science in the Public Service, Community Weather Information Network, Educational Resources webpage, etc.
  • Review and ensure the department’s emergency response capability in the event of nuclear incidents/accidents, as well as participating in international and cross-border liaison in respect of nuclear emergency preparedness.
