聯合書院五十三周年院慶典禮
書院五十三周年院慶典禮訂於10月23日（星期五）上午11時30分假大學邵逸夫堂舉行。書院校董會主席岑才生先生及香港特別行政區政府環境局常任秘書長王倩儀太平紳士將擔任主禮嘉賓。
典禮後，書院隨即於聯合校園舉行院慶生日會，書院教職員聯誼會將送出大蛋糕致賀。生日會後，書院即於張祝珊師生康樂大樓頂樓文怡閣舉行院慶午餐。為慶祝書院院慶，書院學生會亦籌備了一連串的慶祝活動，節目內容將於稍後公佈。

United College 53rd Anniversary Ceremony
The 53rd Anniversary of United College will be held on Friday, 23 October 2009 at 11:30 am at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall of the University. Mr Shum Choi-sang, SBS, JP, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees and Ms Anissa Wong Sean-yee, JP, Permanent Secretary for the Environment, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will officiate at the Ceremony.
Immediately after the Ceremony, there will be a Birthday Party on the College campus. The College Staff Association will donate a birthday cake for the occasion. The day’s highlight will be the Anniversary Luncheon at the College Staff Common Room. The College Student Union will also organise a series of activities to celebrate the occasion. Details will be announced soon.

美育發展計劃：《藝術中與西》工作坊
聯合書院藝術顧問利漢楨教授將與書院導師暨中大藝術系兼任講師張惠儀博士合作開辦《藝術中與西》工作坊，課題為木刻版畫。木刻版畫是一種畫、刻、印合一的藝術，作品不但深具畫意，更兼具木味、刀味，趣味盎然。本工作坊將介紹木刻版畫的製作方法，由如何善用工具，到學習畫、刻、印的過程，並引導學員欣賞中西方木刻版畫，包括中國傳統木刻版畫，二十世紀中國新興木刻版畫，乃至西方表現主義等木刻作品。工作坊詳情如下：
日期：2009年9月29日至11月3日 （逢星期二，共六節） 時間：晚上7時至10時 地點：崇基學院行政樓低層校友室 費用：報名時需繳付按金港幣一百元 （若出席所有課堂，可獲全額退還）

Programme for Aesthetic Development : Art East and West Workshop
Professor Hon-ching Lee, Art Advisor of United College and Dr Cheung Wai-yee, College Tutor and Part-time Lecturer, Department of Fine Arts, CUHK will offer an Art East and West Workshop entitled “Woodblock Prints”. Woodblock printing is an art of designing, engraving and printing. This workshop will touch on the production of woodblock prints, the use of tools in woodblock printing, as well as the appreciation of Chinese and western woodblock prints. Details of the workshop are as follows:
Dates: 29 September – 3 November 2009 (every Tuesday, 6 sessions in total) Time : 7:00 – 10:00 pm Venue: Alumni Room, L/G, Chung Chi College Administration Building Fee: $100 deposit refundable to participants with 100% attendance at the completion of the workshop

United College Si Yuan Amenities Centre Club Management Committee will organise a Workshop on Cocktail Blending and Tasting on 22 September 2009. Details are as below:

The centre supervisor will show the way of concocting Frozen Chocolate Daiquiri, Grasshopper and Bloody Mary. A tasting session will be held after the demonstration. All students are welcome. 2009-10年度新生開學典禮
本年度書院新生開學典禮已於2009年9月11日(星期五) 上午11時30分假邵逸夫堂舉行。典禮上，院長馮國培教授、書院輔導長王香生教授及書院學生會會長郭芷欣同學分別向新生致辭，歡迎本屆同學加入書院的大家庭，並鼓勵他們投入書院生活，善用大學及書院提供的設施及機會，發揮個人潛能並於未來服務同學及社會。今年典禮程序加入大合照環節，近千位出席的嘉賓及學生於邵逸夫堂內留影。典禮後，書院於文怡閣設午宴招待出席的六十多名嘉賓及教職員。 |

Initiation Ceremony for Freshmen 2009-10
The 2009-10 United College Initiation Ceremony for Freshmen was held on Friday, 11 September 2009 at 11:30 am at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. At the Ceremony, Professor Fung Kwok-pui, College Head, Professor Stephen H S Wong, Dean of Students, and Ms Rukia Kwok, President of the College Student Union, delivered welcoming speeches to the audience. They welcomed all freshmen joining the College and encouraged them to participate more in the College activities and to make good use of the facilities and opportunities provided by the University and the College, hence developing their potentials to serve the fellow students and the society in the future. During the Ceremony, a group photo was taken for all the attending guests and freshmen inside the auditorium of Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The College also hosted a luncheon for over 60 College staff and guests at the Staff Common Room after the Ceremony. |

第二屆世界華文旅遊文學國際學術研討會
聯合書院與明報月刊、世界旅遊文學協會、澳門中華文化藝術協會及香港作家聯會合辦的第二屆世界華文旅遊文學國際學術研討會，已於2009年9月5日至7日舉行。
開幕禮蒙中央人民政府駐香港特別行政區聯絡辦公室宣傳文體部郝鐵川部長、院長馮國培教授、世界華文媒體有限公司主席張曉卿爵士、著名作家余秋雨教授、明報月刊總編輯潘耀明先生及多位學者蒞臨主禮，並獲校外嘉賓、大學及書院同仁等撥冗參加。
是次研討會邀請到四十多位世界各地的知名作家、教授和學者聚首一堂，探討和分享關於旅遊文學的心得，成果豐碩。
本學術研討會蒙書院基金會及洽蕙藝術及文化發展基金贊助。 |

2nd International Conference on Travel Writings in Chinese
The 2nd
International Conference on Travel Writings in Chinese, jointly presented by
United College,
Ming Pao Monthly,
Association of Travel Writings in Chinese, Macau Chinese Culture and Arts
Association and the Federation of Hong Kong Writers, was held
on 5 to 7 September 2009.
Over 40 prominent writers, professors and scholars worldwide presented their papers and contributed to the fruitful conference.

《聯合校刊》乃書院每年出版一次之重要刊物。《聯合校刊》除記載書院名錄、學生生活及當年大事外，亦刊登員生著作，以豐富內容及提高趣味性。2008-09年度 《聯合校刊》(第六十五期) 編輯委員會現向各教職員、同學及校友徵稿，來稿可以中文或英文撰寫，題材及類別不限，字數約二千至二千五百字為合。

Calling for Articles for the United Bulletin Volume 65
An annual publication of United College, United Bulletin, not only serves as an official chronicle of College personalia, student activities and major events, but also features literary works written by College staff members and students. The College Publication Committee would like to invite contribution of articles to United Bulletin Volume 65 (2008-09). Each article should be around 2000 to 2500 words, written in English or Chinese on any topic and genre.
