Crafting your literature review

Description: You’ll have absorbed a huge amount of material around your research topic. Now, you need to determine what’s most relevant, and present it in a way that’s accessible, compelling and justifies your own contribution.  This workshop will involve practical exercises designed to help you determine the structure and focus of your literature review. You’ll learn techniques that will help you communicate the story of your research clearly and persuasively, and there will be time for independent reflection, small-group discussions with your peers, and opportunities for questions.

By the end of this workshop, you should be able to:
  • (1) Understand the purpose of a literature review.
  • (2) Explore more efficient ways of organizing sources and extracting information.
  • (3) Establish a strong structure for your literature review.
  • (4) Explain the context and need for your research in a way that's compelling and persuasive.
