Dear fellow colleagues and students,

In our last email, I have provided you a progress update of the Chinese University Student Information System (CUSIS) project. As the system is about to go through the final stage of testing before launch, I would like to take this opportunity to give you some more details about the key benefits to be delivered by CUSIS.

CUSIS will help enhance overall service delivery to key stakeholders of the University, in terms of efficiency, flexibility and accessibility. Interfacing with CUSIS will be made through the revamped University Portal, MyCUHK, in which
-
Students can manage not only their personal particulars, but also their academic activities, including course enrollment, financial aids and scholarship application, in a paperless environment online.
- Teaching staff can access and manage related teaching and learning information anytime, anywhere.
- Administrative staff can leverage CUSIS to facilitate their daily operation.

As mentioned in my last e-mail, CUSIS will be launched in June/July 2010. To accommodate the transition, several CUHK computer systems will likely experience some interruptions in the period of June and July. More specific details will be provided to the affected parties in the coming months.

For more details about CUSIS, please do not hesitate to visit our project website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/cusis/ or contact the CUSIS Project Team (cusis@cuhk.edu.hk / 26961998).

Yours faithfully,

Ching Pak-chung
Chairman of Steering Committee on the Development of CUSIS
