中文大學的課程、學術研究和社區服務，為香港和亞太區的教育及社會發展作出了重大貢獻。展覽略舉其要者：例如為全港創立首個互聯網中心，與世界各地著名學術機構的緊密聯繫，為社會培育傑出的人才，成立卓越研究中心，在香港以外開辦學位課程，對本地學校的支持，以及大力推廣文化藝術和考古等等。中文大學教研人員對非典型肺炎的科研成果屢見突破，醫護人員奮不顧身，拯救病人，誠為香港戰勝非典型肺炎的一支強大醫療和科研隊伍。展覽將特設部份，介紹中文大學對抗非典型肺炎的努力和成就。 Through its educational programmes, research efforts and service to the community, CUHK contributes to education and society in Hong Kong, and around the region. This exhibition portrays some prominent examples, including the creation of the internet hub in Hong Kong, links with academic institutions across the world, achievements by students and graduates, major research centres and their research accomplishments, degree programmes offered beyond Hong Kong, outreach and support to local schools, promotion of art and archaeology. A special section pays tribute to the outstanding scientific research and first-rate clinical care that were key elements in Hong Kong's recent victory over SARS.
