Dear HKIAPS Members and Friends,

Welcome to the thirteenth issue of the HKIAPS e-Bulletin. As we enter a new season, we present this e-Bulletin to keep you connected with our efforts in various fields of Social Science research.

Over the past half year, the HKIAPS Centre/Programme engaged in various local and international academic activities, such as conferences, seminars, and exhibition. More and more events are being held in a hybrid mode, which involves offering live streaming on Zoom and playback videos. The HKIAPS website has also been revamped to enhance public engagement. In this way, we have been able to overcome the limitations of geographical distance and to have a greater research impact than before. At the same time, our Institute has maintained its standard research publications, including survey press releases, journal articles, reports, and newspaper commentaries.

In this issue, we highlight the “Plastic Reduction Academy: No Plastic Bags, Please!” exhibition, which was held on 2–28 November 2023 at CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change. A total of 2,100 visitors attended the exhibition. In order to continue the public dissemination, the online exhibition is now available.

In the coming months, we will continue to have a research impact by holding more seminars and public lecture series. We shall continue to disseminate our research and reach the public in more accessible ways.
