Call for Papers
The forum plans to invite Ph.D. students (after completing qualifying examination) or Ph.D. graduates with less than 5 years of work experience for presentation of their recent research output on any aspect of Chinese studies, drawing on but not limited to the disciplines of history, literature, religion, art and thought. Proposals related to the theme of The Digital Turn and Chinese Studies: Data, Method and Meaning are preferable. Topics of interest include but are not restricted to the following: 1. Digitized Sources in Chinese Studies; 2. Significance and Impact of the Digital Turn in Chinese Studies; 3. Methodological innovation engaging digital data in Chinese Studies; 4. Interpreting issues concerning digital data in Chinese Studies; 5. Digital culture and its representations in Chinese society; 6. Area of digital transformation in Greater China. Participants are expected to be proficient in both English and Chinese.
The conference will only cover expenses for lodging and round-trip transportation (economy class) for the participants. The organizer will provide maximum subsidy of 1000 USD subject to approval. Conference registration is free.
Papers will be selected by a committee from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Local faculty will serve as discussants for the selected papers. Publication for selected papers will be considered after the forum.
