Courseware Development Grant Scheme (2014-15)
First Round: Call for Applications
The Academic IT Steering Committee (AITSC) has applied budget from the Teaching Development Grant for Courseware Development Grant Scheme (CDGS). AITSC is now inviting applications from members of the teaching staff for projects funded under this allocation. Projects must be related to UGC-funded courses and programmes. The deadline of this call for applications is 20 May 2014.
Aim
The aim of this CDGS is to encourage teachers to move forward from the basic use of eLearning towards developing more sophisticated or more complete eLearning environments for their students.
Project Scale
In view of this aim, applicants should devise proposed projects with a budget in the order of $50,000, with a maximum $100,000. Smaller projects will be considered but will have a lower priority.
Examples of some showcases of previous products of CDGS can be found in http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/eLearning/resources/showcase.htm. We have also invited some experienced users to give us presentation on the CUHK Expo that held on 5 December, 2013 (http://www5.cuhk.edu.hk/eLearning/expo2013). Showcases could be found in the website.
Application Procedure
An application form can be downloaded from the eLearning website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/eLearning/cdgs/cdgsapply14.doc. Applicants should provide a title, a brief description of the project, a timeline, a clear evaluation plan and a budget estimated at an item level. Please note that hardware items are not covered under the CDGS. Also, applicants should indicate whether the project is funded by other sources.
