Environmental Sustainability Ambassador Program
¡° Introduction
Initiated by the joint efforts of Campus Landscaping Enhancement Committee, Committee on Campus Environment and Energy Saving Task Force and sponsored by Hang Seng Bank our University has launched the Environmental Sustainability Ambassador Program as part of the total commitments on carbon reduction issue on campus.
The program objectives are as follows:
1. To assist actively supporting carbon auditing / energy auditing in buildings, including some self auditing.
2. To reduce GHG emission (carbon reduction) through planning with annual targets, coordination and launching of program activities.
3. To draw up plans for awareness promotion, communication on ¡§Green¡¨ benefits, implementation / monitoring of environmental sustainability related programs, best practices and the necessary behavioral / cultural changes.
4. To facilitate other environmental sustainability issues such as green purchase policy.
5. To report annually to Committee on Campus Environment the carbon audit results and the review on sustainability programs.
The program was officially launched by our Associate Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Fung Tung on 14 May together with Senior Officials of Hang Seng Bank and CUHK. Total 102 Ambassadors from 88 departments have joined the workshop and share the technologies and experiences of carbon reduction on campus with our Guest Speakers. It kicks off our carbon reduction works on campus activities.
