Biography
Dr. Qing Zhou is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Pathology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhou received her Bachelor of Medicine degree in Clinical Medicine from Yangzhou University, a Master of Research in Oncology from the University of Manchester, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Medicine from the Medical University of Graz. Her research interests include understanding the biology of cell-free nucleic acid fragmentation and developing non-invasive prenatal and cancer diagnostic testing using cell-free DNA fragmentomics. Dr. Zhou and her colleagues have developed a novel approach to deducing cfDNA methylation based on its fragmentation. This approach has led to the development of new methods for early cancer detection.

Specialised Research Area(s):

  • Non-invasive cancer diagnostic approaches
  • Cell-free DNA fragmentomics
  • Biology of circulating nucleic acids
