Exchange Opportunity -
HSBC Overseas Scholarship Scheme 2012/13

Are you a non-final year undergraduate student? Are you a Hong Kong permanent resident with the right of abode in Hong Kong? Are you with GPA of 3.3 or above?

Scholarships are available for non-final year undergraduate students to pursue one-year study abroad AS A VISITING STUDENT OR AN EXCHANGE STUDENT in Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, Germany, The Netherlands, UK/Ireland, Sweden, USA, Switzerland or Rest of Europe. Don¡¦t Miss This Golden Chance to experience the different ways of both study and life, to broaden your horizons and to grasp this valuable opportunity for international exposure.

Each scholarship will fully cover tuition fees and mandatory college fees, a minimum economy return airfare, and go towards reasonable room and board costs, books, a small portion of living expenses and visa application fees.

This scheme will enable you to spend one year of your studies as a visiting student or an exchange student at an overseas university selected from a List of Overseas Universities designated by the donor, The Hongkong Bank Foundation. Scholars must return to Hong Kong upon completion of the overseas study to complete their original degree programme and graduate from CUHK.

Please note that the donor and CUHK do NOT have any arrangements with the overseas universities (please refer to the List of Overseas Universities appended to the application form) whereby scholars will be guaranteed admission despite the fact that CUHK has exchange programmes with some of these universities. Selected candidates are responsible for fulfilling all application procedures and admission requirements at overseas universities of their choice from the approved List of Overseas Universities and securing a place subsequently. Candidates are, therefore, strongly advised to pay the closest attention to application procedures and timeline as soon as possible and selected candidates should secure acceptance independent of the donor.

Information on the Scholarship Scheme and its application form can be downloaded from our website at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/adm/ (Scholarships & Financial Aid a Applications Invited). Completed application forms together with supporting documents should be submitted in person to the Scholarships and Financial Aid Section, Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, Room 332, Pi Ch'iu Building during office hours (Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. except Public Holidays) on or before 13 January 2012. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an internal interview to be held in late January 2012 and a selection interview to be held by HSBC panel in March 2012 in Hong Kong.
