FAQ(s)

Q1. Do I need to report to the University if I have updates in my personal particulars or academic examinations to be attempted?

- Yes, you should inform us as soon as possible by email (ugapp@cuhk.edu.hk).

Q2. Can I accept more than one offer?

- If you have indicated more than one programme choices in your application, your application will be considered by all programmes you apply to in parallel. You may check the application status online of all your programme choice(s).

If you receive and accept an offer, you will continue to be considered by other programme(s) you apply to. Please note, however, that you may hold on to one admission offer from the University for 2025 entry at any one time. This means that if you are already holding an earlier CUHK admission offer for 2025 entry, you have to relinquish it if you wish to accept a subsequent offer (if any). The deposit of HK$5,000 paid for your acceptance will then be transferred automatically to be deposit for any subsequently accepted offer

Q3. Can I get a refund of the acceptance deposit?

- Upon enrolment at the University, the non-refundable acceptance deposit will be applied to the first term composition fees (including tuition fee and other fees such as hostel fees, where applicable). The balance of the fee charges required for the first term of study is payable by the end of September 2025. Notification for fee payment will normally be sent to students in mid-September 2025.

Q4. How should I complete student registration and course registration?

- Students who have completed Document Verification will be notified on the procedures in due course.

Q5. As a new student, can I enter the campus before the new academic term starts in September 2025?

- In accordance with campus access control measures, all CUHK students are required to present their CU Link cards or scan CUHK Mobile Pass at the campus entrance.

- You are encouraged to use CUHK Mobile Pass for accessing the campus. For more details, please refer to the information regarding CUHK Mobile Pass available on the Information Technology Services Centre webpage.

CUHK Mobile Pass – Campus Access
CUHK Mobile Pass is a mobile app that lets new students enter the campus with a QR code, besides CU Link Card. CU Link Card is still the official way to show one’s University identity, but CUHK Mobile Pass is more convenient for those who not yet have or forget their CU Link Card.

If you are using the CUHK Mobile Pass app for the first time, please sign in the app 3 hours before you arrive on campus to allow enough time for the access control system to recognize your device.

Q6. Do I need to report to the University in person to complete student registration and course registration?

- No, you can complete both Student and Course registration online. For more details, please visit the Student Orientation Website.
