In the late 1980s, Shaw College was established, and in 2012, ve more colleges were founded, bringing the total number of Colleges at CUHK to nine. CUHK is the only university in Hong Kong that o ers a College-based education. Its departments and faculties are focused on generating new knowledge via research and disseminating knowledge via teaching. College programmes and activities complement formal curricula by delivering whole-person education and pastoral care.
