Studies in Chinese Linguistics and Current Research in Chinese Linguistics Reselected for Inclusion in CSSCI

The Symposium on Chinese Academic Journals and Think Tank Development in Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, organized by Nanjing University (NJU) and co-organized by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), was held on November 4, 2025, at HKBU. Professor Sze-Wing Tang, Director of the T. T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre (CLRC) and Chief Editor of Studies in Chinese Linguistics (SCL) and Current Research in Chinese Linguistics (CrCL), attended the symposium and delivered a presentation titled “Chinese Research and Journal Development”. In his talk, Professor Tang introduced CLRC’s recent research initiatives, shared updates on the development of SCL and CrCL, and outlined his expectations and vision for editorial work.

During the symposium, a certificate presentation ceremony was held for the inclusion of journals in Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) (2025-2026). On behalf of the Center for Chinese Social Science Research and Assessment at NJU, Professor Yunsong Chen, Deputy Secretary of the NJU Party Committee, presented the certificates to Professor Tang. As two of the first journals from Hong Kong included by CSSCI in 2023, SCL and CrCL were honoured to be reselected. This recognition affirms the efforts of both journals and reinforces our enduring commitment to promoting academic development.

CSSCI is a citation database for social sciences developed by the Center for Chinese Social Science Research and Assessment at NJU. By systematically indexing high-quality Chinese journals in social sciences, CSSCI provides an assessment framework for academic impacts. It serves research institutions, scholars, and journal publishers and is regarded as a key indicator of the quality and impact of Chinese academic journals.
