CUHK researchers awarded by WUN Research Development Fund
Results of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Research Development Fund (RDF) 2015 were announced in December 2015. A total of 37 applications were submitted from 16 members. Among which, 15 applications were successful (a 40.5% success rate) and they were distributed among 10 members. The WUN RDF provides seed grants to support the establishment of global research projects, enabling them to lay the groundwork for later applications to national and international funding bodies.
Of the three submissions made by CUHK, two were selected with a total award valued at £22,500 (and matched by funds provided by CUHK). Details of the awarded projects are listed below:

Both Prof. Amos Tai and Prof. Eliza Wong are delighted to receive the awards. Their projects have great relevance to WUN’s research priorities in Climate Change and Public Health. In particular, Prof. Wong’s project emerges from the WUN Public Health Conference on Healthy Ageing held at CUHK in April 2015. Prof. Wong said, ‘My project will explore intergenerational roles of different stakeholders and equity in health services and community care for older people from the perspectives of service delivery, financing and policy. Our team consists of researchers from seven countries—Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, and the UK. This will enable us to conduct a comparative study using information gathered from different health systems and different cultural contexts.’
Furthermore, five CUHK researchers are involved in four projects led by other WUN members across all four Global Challenges. They include:
