Mr. Tyler Hepler and Ms. Murong Tina Li, exchange students from the US, played host to a Thanksgiving Party
on 24 November 2016. Professor Wai-Yee Chan, the then Master-designate (now College Master), generously
sponsored a smoked turkey greatly increasing the festive mood of the occasion. The Party began with Professor
Chan and Professor Kenneth Young, the Founding Master, taking turns in carving the turkey, which was one of
the highlights of the night.
Tyler gave a sharing on the history and current practice in Thanksgiving celebration in the US. Participants learnt
about the first Thanksgiving Day, how it was made into an American national holiday, as well as the parade, the
Black Friday and the Cyber Monday that have become part of American custom. According to Tyler,
Being a
member of CW Chu College has offered me the chance to interact with students from all over the world.
