CUHK students receive Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards
The Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards support educational exchange between Australia and Asia. Since its inception, over 60 CUHK students and post-docs have benefited from the programme to visit Australian institutions while some 30 students from Australia have visited CUHK in return. The CUHK awardees of the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards were gathered at the Awards Reception held on 17 May 2017 to celebrate their achievements in Australia.
Dr. Gao Xue, a former post-doc fellow at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, was awarded the Endeavour Research Fellowship for research attachments at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. At the reception, she shared her cultural encounters and how she has benefited from the academic experience during her stay.
Honorable guests at the reception included the Hon. Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria, Australia; Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, SBS, JP, Secretary for Education; and Mr. HL Kam, Group Managing Director of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited, who shared the joy with some 20 Endeavour scholars from different institutions in Hong Kong.
Launched in 2004, the Australia Endeavour Cheung Kong Scholarship Programme provides valuable opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Australia and Asia to go on exchange funded by the Australian Government and the Cheung Kong Group. The programme aims to provide exchange opportunities for around 250 undergraduates and 10 postgraduates every year in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Endeavour Research Fellowship 2018 for Postgraduate Students and Post-docs is now calling for applications. The fellowship provides financial support for undertaking short-term research attachments in any field of study in Australia. The application deadline is 30 June 2017.
