2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Academic Symposium
9 November 2024 | Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau
The “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Academic Symposium” is a long-standing symposium series jointly organized by Macau and Guangdong,
with events rotating between the three regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.
This year, the symposium was hosted in Macau by the Macau Society of Social Sciences and the City University of Macau,
with sponsorship from the Macau Foundation. Nearly sixty members and scholars attended the event.
Dr Victor Zheng was invited as panelist to give a presentation.
The theme of this year’s symposium was to summarize the developmental experience since Macau’s return to China,
focusing on Macau’s development in relation to the Greater Bay Area and the impact of China-U.S. relations on Macau’s progress.
Through the presentation of papers and interactive discussions,
the symposium provided an excellent academic platform for those interested in studying the development of Macau and the Greater Bay Area.
Dr Zheng delivered a presentation titled “Opportunities and Challenges in the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area:
An Analysis from the Perspective of Hong Kong Public Opinion”,
which explored the attitudes of the people of Macau and Hong Kong toward the development of the Greater Bay Area.
The discussions were lively,
with participants particularly expressing their views on the development of Macau’s new administration and the future direction of the Greater Bay Area.■

Jockey Club Life Adventure Opportunity Hub Community Leadership Dinner (賽馬會成長「機」地計劃:大小「乘」「長」晚宴」)
19:00 – 22:00 | 17 January 2025 | Hong Kong Palace Museum
The “Jockey Club Life Adventure Opportunity Hub” aims to transform primary schools into hubs that connect opportunities in the community,
and promote the holistic development of upper primary students while encouraging community and parental involvement.
Prof. Winton Au, Prof. Qian Wang, and Prof. Steven Nagi, along with the project team,
gathered with 300 social leaders, principals, teachers, students,
and parents to share stories about the journey and growth of the project.
Through relaxed conversations,
the leaders related tales about their life experiences to participating students,
who in turn told stories about their growth journeys.
In the process, they all contributed to continuing to inspire a spirit of “growth through collaboration”.■
