Attending the 2021 International Conference on Global Bay Area Development: Regional Cooperation and Innovation-Driven Development

To enhance international academic exchange and cooperation among the global bay areas, the Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute of Lingnan University, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Development Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Research Center of the University of Macau jointly organized the first international academic conference entitled “Global Bay Area Development” on the 23rd and 24th of October 2021.

The theme of this international conference was “Regional Cooperation and Innovation-Driven Development”. HKIAPS Associate Director (Executive) Dr Victor Zheng was invited as one of the speakers for Hong Kong’s session. Dr Zheng examined the role of Hong Kong in the development of the Greater Bay Area from the perspective of developing a Chinese medicine transaction centre. Dr Zheng shared some innovative viewpoints into discussing Hong Kong’s uniqueness in fostering regional cooperation in the Greater Bay Area.

Lecture on “Evolution of Money” for Highschool Students

This lecture aims to teach students how money has evolved to its modern form. This includes its origin, functions, and its relationship with the development of central banks and the banking industry. Prof Travis K. H. Ng gave a 2-hour lecture presenting money-related topics to the students of Pui Ching Middle School, which was supplemented with a well-designed game to complement the presentation.
