Dear HKIAPS Members and Friends,
Welcome to the eighth issue of the HKIAPS e-Bulletin.
As we enter a new season,
we present this e-Bulletin to keep you connected with our efforts in various fields of Social Science research.
Although COVID-19 has once again hit society severely,
we strive to sustain research activities and continue to explore new ways of disseminating our research and maintaining existing exchanges with our international collaborators.
This half year we have held a public
lecture series and
more than 10
seminars,
which were offered by the various centres.
In this way, we have been able to overcome geographical distances and have a larger research impact than before.
At the same time, our Institute has maintained its standard research publications,
which include
survey press releases,
journal articles,
book and book chapters,
policy research reports,
and
newspaper commentaries.
In this issue, we highlight the launching of
the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute (HKCI) commissioned project:
“Hong Kong Chronicles: Ethnicity and Family” .
This is a two-year project which aims at compiling the history and development of the population of Hong Kong covering a period from the ancient era to the 20th anniversary of HKSAR on 1st July 2017.
In the coming months, we will continue to create a research impact by holding policy research webinars and annual public lecture series in the Hong Kong Museum of History.
While the COVID-19 pandemic may still hinder our ability to communicate face to face in the foreseeable future,
it is prompting us to explore more ways to disseminate our research.
