he first year of university life is crucial. It lays the foundation for one

development. The Chinese University is committed to holistic education. We expect our
students to excel not only academically, but also to develop essential qualities and values and soft
skills.
At the Office of Student Affairs, we provide services in diverse areas to assist students advance
along the educational path. On a personal level, there are the learning enhancement service,
psychological counselling service, leadership training activities, etc. On a broader level, there are
many university-wide and intervarsity activities as well as cross-cultural diversity programmes. As
for career development, there are many career guidance and enrichment programmes.

“
Flourishing First
Year@CUHK
”
(
心 盛 計 劃
) programme in 2017-18. Through this programme, we hope to be able
to help our students better equip for the challenges ahead and embrace new experiences as they
embark on a new stage of university journey.
Composed of four modules, the Flourishing First Year@CUHK programme offers different activities
covering a wide range of topics throughout the year. To name a few......
All first year students are welcome to join this Flourishing First Year@CUHK Programme. Students
who have attended at least one activity in each module in a term will be awarded a Cafe 330 coffee
coupon. Their attendance will also be recorded on the Student Development Portfolio (applicable
for Undergraduate students only).
