Honorary Research Associate - Uganda Sze Pui Kwan 關詩珮

Prof. Uganda Sze-pui Kwan is an associate professor at the Division of Chinese, the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She received her BA in Chinese at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and her PhD from SOAS, the University of London. She was the visiting research fellow of the University of College London in 2010 and was project associate professor at the University of Tokyo in 2009. She has been appointed Honorary Research Associate at RCT since 2009 and has participated and contributed immensely at the Young Researchers’ Conference on Chinese Translation Studies. She is associate editor of Studies in Translation History. She is also involved with the Project "Translation and Modernization in East Asia in the 19th and early 20th Century", funded by the Focused Investment Scheme of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her major research interests are 20th Chinese Literature, History of Translation in the 20th China, the Influence of Meiji Japanese Literature upon late Qing and Modern Chinese Literature, Hong Kong Literature and Culture, Theories of Fiction and Western Literary Criticism and so far she has published over twenty articles in leading journals and books.
