Appointment of Honorary Research Fellow: Prof. Li Sher-shiueh
新委任名譽研究員:李奭學教授
 
RCT is proud to announce the appointment of new Honorary Research Fellow, Prof. Li Sher-shiueh, for a period of two years from March 2012.

Prof. Li is a Research Follow at the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy, Academia Sinica, ROC, with a joint professorship at the Graduate Institute of Translation and Interpretation, National Taiwan Normal University. He is also appointed as Concurrent Professor of Cross-Cultural Studies in Fu Jen Catholic University. He received his PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago in 1999. He has received a number of prestigious awards, including the National Science Council Outstanding Research Award and Stephen C. Soong Translation Studies Memorial Award. Prof. Li is a specialist in the Cross-disciplinary Studies of religion and literature. He has published nine books. Among them, European literature in late-Ming China: Jesuit exemplum, its source and its interpretation (《中國晚明與歐洲文學——明末耶穌會西洋古典型證道故事考詮》) and Jing shi zi ji: fanyi, wenxue yu wenhua zhaji (《經史子集:翻譯、文學與文化箚記) are important works of the field. He is also the translator of ten volumes of Chinese literature history and criticism.

At RCT, Prof. Li is actively involved in the project “Translation Activities of the Missionaries in the Late Ming and Early Qing”, funded by the RCT Research Programme Fund of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He heads the sub-project “Literary Translation in the Jesuit Writings of Late Ming China”.

台灣中研院李奭學教授由三月起獲委任為本中心名譽研究員,為期兩年。

李奭學教授於1999年獲芝加哥大學比較文學博士學位;現職台灣中央研究院中國文哲研究所研究員、國立台灣師範大學翻譯研究所合聘教授、輔仁大學跨文化研究所兼任教授。李教授歷年來取得多項學術榮譽,包括行政院國科會2011年度傑出研究獎及宋淇翻譯研究論文紀念獎等。李教授為明末清初宗教與文學的跨文學研究專家,著有專書九本,包括《中國晚明與歐洲文學——明末耶穌會西洋古典型證道故事考詮》及《經史子集:翻譯、文學與文化箚記》,並翻譯出版十本中國文學歷史及評論專著。

李教授於RCT將參加翻譯研究中心“研究項目經費”資助之“明末清初傳教士的翻譯活動”研究項目,並專門負責“明末耶穌會傳教士文學翻譯研究”子項目。
