The Chinese University Student Information System (CUSIS) goes live on 5 July 2010, which interfacing with CUSIS is made through the revamped University Portal, MyCUHK, launched at the same time. You should using your University ID* (i.e. staff or student ID) to login MyCUHK.
To cope with the increase in student population under the new 3-3-4 curriculum reform, a new 10-digit University Student ID (USID) format is introduced along with CUSIS. At the same time, computing IDs and e-mail addresses are also changed.
New 10-digit University Student ID (USID) Format
The new 10-digit format no longer embed information about the student’s admission year nor college affiliation. But with the deployment of the CUSIS Project in the 2010-11 academic year, these attributes are conveniently displayed on all information systems without much impact to most existing applications and workflows. ITSC and concerned offices have updated the authentication and database query functions of their information systems to accommodate this change.
One Student One ID
One-Student-One-ID policy is one major reform brought by the CUSIS project. Under this policy, each student is assigned with a unique USID. This USID is used for one’s different stages of studying at the University, and even after graduation. Whenever he/she is re-admitted to a new study programme at CUHK after graduation, the same USID will be assigned to him/her again.
If you are now holding more than one USID due to enrolling for different programmes, you will be assigned one USID only.
