Synergising complementary strengths: CUHK and University of Manchester establish joint research fund

CUHK and the University of Manchester (UoM) have a history of partnership in undergraduate student exchange and research collaboration in various areas. In order to capitalise on the complementary strengths and create greater impact of research, the two universities have recently established a joint fund that supports six priority areas including Cancer, Neuroscience, Energy and Climate Change, Future Cities, Advanced Materials, and Poverty Relief.

With an award of up to £10,000 for each selected proposal, the fund supports activities such as research initiatives, symposium, targeted workshops, staff exchanges, formation or development of a collaborative network, and teaching developments. The scheme aims to encourage dialogue and travel exchange to lead to concrete research proposals and applications for external funding over time.

The application closing date is 15 January 2016. To learn more about the fund, please visit here.
