Student exchange: Your opportunity awaits!

When someone talks about student exchange, ‘opportunities’ is the word that pops into mind. Opportunities to explore, to go far beyond the comfort zone, to meet new people and to truly experience the world. The CUHK Student Exchange Week which opens the door to these opportunities for students to obtain first-hand information about student exchange programmes was held in October 2017.

Ms. Anna Cecilia Tsai, an incoming exchange student from the University of Washington, USA, expressed her gratitude for the exchange opportunities at CUHK in the first term of 2017–18. ‘Exchange is an important part of a person’s undergraduate education. I am excited to share with others how incredible an exchange programme can be.’ Anna joined the Student Exchange Week as a helper in the roadshow. She also helped out at the Orientation Day for Undergraduate Admissions which showcased the excellence of CUHK to secondary school students. ‘I enjoyed promoting my country and my home university. The questions people asked me gave me insight on how people perceive my country.’

Ms. CHAN Ho Ching, a CUHK student who was on exchange at the University of Western Australia last term, also helped out in the campaign. ‘I shared how I chose my exchange destination among those offered by CUHK. I wanted to let my fellow schoolmates know how I tackled my concerns prior to departure and how I solved my problems during exchange’. Ho Ching described the Student Exchange Week 2017 as a fulfilling experience to meet students who are interested in taking steps to broaden their horizons and joining an exchange.
