Previous Group Members 2007-2011

Yiu-Cheung Keung

An undergraduate of CUHK, Yiu-Cheung joined the group as an MPhil student in Aug 2007. His research work is focused on the synthesis and biological properties of cationic amphiphilic dendrons. He now works in a local hospital in Hong Kong. Feel free to contact him if you like fishing in the South China Sea. He is now a father of a girl, and likes to come back and has afternoon tea with us.

Dr. Chao Chen

Xiao Chen obtained his PhD degree from Lanzhou University and joined us in Jul 2007 as a postdoctoral associate. His work was focused on the design and synthesis of peptide-based inhibitors against SARS virus. He is now working in Guangzhou, PR China.

Dr. Susan Yuting Liang

An undergraduate of Sun Yat-Set University, PR China, Susan joined the group as a PhD student in Aug 2007. Her research work is focused on the synthesis, self assembling and encapsulation properties of amphiphilic dendrons. She worked as a lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Hong Kong Baptist University before moving to California, USA.

Dr. Zhihai Ke

Zhihai joined the group in Aug 2008 after completing his BSc in Sun Yat-Set University. His PhD work was about the synthesis and supramolecular chemistry of click peptidomimetics. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the National University of Singapore. In Aug 2015 he moved back to our department as a research assistant professor, researching on the development of novel organic synthetic methods.

Dr. Tom Zhang

Tom obtained his PhD from Lanzhou University and worked as a postdoctoral coworker in our group since Sep 2011. Trained as a natural product synthetic chemist, he worked on the self assembling properties of oligomers and polymers. He said that oligomer synthesis sometimes could be more trickier than natural product synthesis. What do you think? Currently he is working at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Huazhong University of Science & Technology in Wuhan, China.

Dr. Yuan Chen

Xiao Chen joined us in May 2010 after obtained her PhD from the HK Polytechnic University. She worked on the synthesis of click polymers. She is now working in Guangzhou, PR China.

Zheng Wang

Xiao Wang obtained his BSc degree from Sun Yat-Set University, he joined the group in Aug 2009. He worked on chiral main-chain click polymers.

Dr. Sui-Lung Yim

Sui-Lung did his undergraduate study at CUHK and joined us in Aug 2009. His PhD work was focused on the self assembly and host-guest complexation properties of click oligomers and polymers. He is now working in an industrial company in HK.

Dr. Chun-Fai Ng

Nicknamed "神輝" and used to be a Mac-fan, Chun-Fai joined the group as a PhD student in Aug 2010, working in the synthesis and properties of supramolecular ladder polymers. After obtaining his PhD in 2015, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Mak on X-ray crystallography. Currently he is working as a scientific officer in the department.

Sam Ho-Ka Ho

Sam, also known as H+H (H2), joined the group in Aug 2010 after completing his BSc study at CUHK. His research is focused on the synthesis and supramolecular chemistry of water soluble, hydrophilic triazole-based oligomers and polymers.
