Previous Group Members 2012-2016

Shuhui Duan

Shuhui joined as a research associate in Aug 2012 after finishing her MPhil at Lanzhou University. She worked in the area of supramolecular chemistry of tribenzotriquinance derivatives. She is currently working in Wuhan University.

Dr. Peng An

Xiao An joined our group as a pstodoc in Aug 2014. He is a native of Lanzhou, and got a PhD from Lanzhou University. He spent two years as a joint student at the State University of New York. His research work is on the synthesis of non-planar graphene molecules, a join project with Prof. Dietmar Kuck of Bielefeld University. Currently he is working in the States as a postdoctoral fellow.

Dr. Wen-Rong Xu

Wen-Rong comes from the scenic area of Yunnan. She graduated from Lanzhou University and joined the group as a PhD student in Aug 2011. Her research work was focused on the synthesis and self assembly properties of tribenzotriquinance derivatives - a highly interesting structural motif for the preparation of organized molecular assemblies. She obtained her PhD in Sep 2015, and is now an associate professor at the Materials and Chemical Engineering Department of Hainan University, PR China.

Theo Tin-Ki Chui

An undergraduate of CUHK, Theo joined the group as a PhD student since Aug 2011. His research work was focused on the synthesis and self assembly properties of triazole-amino acid based oligomers. He obtained his PhD in Sep 2016 and is now working in a chemical company in Taiwan.

Frances Leung

Frances joined our group as a PhD student in Aug 2012. She obtained her BSc degree from CUHK in Jul 2012, and worked on a project concerning the effect of the orientation of the repeating units inside the polymer chain on the self-assembly properties. She obtained her PhD degree in 2017 and then joined a local industry in Hong Kong.

Dr. Yuan Zhong

Xiao Zhong joined our group as a postdoctoral fellow in Sep 2016. He obtained a PhD degree from Lanzhou University with Prof. R. Wang. His research work is focused on the synthesis and property studies of non-planar graphene molecules.
