CUHK congratulates University of Sydney on centre opening in China

CUHK’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) Prof. Fanny Cheung was in Suzhou, China on 11 November 2016 to celebrate the opening of the University of Sydney (USyd) Centre in China located at Suzhou Industrial Park. The centre is USyd’s first major facility outside Australia and will play a key role in facilitating USyd’s links with Chinese institutions, in addition to serving as a research and education hub.

CUHK and USyd took the opportunity to renew their MOU on short-term faculty exchange at the Centre’s launch ceremony, which will allow the two universities to exchange four faculty members per year. Since 2012, the programme has supported some 20 exchange visits facilitating collaborations in communication, medicine, public health, and environmental policy.

Both being members of the Worldwide Universities Network, CUHK has developed a close strategic partnership with USyd on various fronts including research collaborations in migration and traditional Chinese medicine informatics.
