Promoting cultural integration?
You can make it your own way!
Internationalization Project for Promoting Campus Integration
Hospitality Creates a Homely Feel for
Non-local Students
T
h e CUHK Ho s t F am i l y
Programme, first kicked off
in October, aims to facilitate full-
time international undergraduate
students’ adaptation to the
lifestyle of Hong Kong and to
enhance cultural exchange between students and staff.
At the launching event, the colleagues from different
office met their students and exchanged the welcoming
gifts with each other. To have a better understanding and
more cultural exchange, the host families have started
planning a variety of festive activities such as Christmas
celebration, family meal in the Lunar New Year and outings
to places of interest with their students.
If you missed the application last time, remember to keep
an eye on our Facebook page and e-mail. The programme
will be extended to all non-local undergraduate students in
the second term. The Office of Student Affairs will arrange
the matching for students and colleagues based on their
common interest, religion, college affiliation, etc. Join us now!

The Fund aims to facilitate student integration of various cultural backgrounds on campus. Therefore, the CUHK and the
University Grants Committee (UGC) will make available HK$500,000 to support projects initiated by students with this
purpose in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years. The maximum amount of support for each application is capped
at $100,000.
PURPOSE
Students from both local and non-local origins can organize and/or participate in the funded projects. Students taking
non-UGC funded programmes are welcome to participate in this initiative, as long as the majority of students in each
project team are taking UGC-funded programmes.
ELIGIBILITY
Consideration will be given to the overall merits of each application, including innovation and impact of the project
in promoting campus integration. Intellectual, quasi-intellectual, culturally enhancing projects and inter-institutional
collaborations will be highly valued.
Priority will be given to projects which:
a. involve a large number of students, whether as organizers or participants,
b. demonstrate cost effectiveness and sustainability components
