Outsourcing Policy
in CUHK Announced
M
any students are concerned about the well-being
of outsourced workers on campus, who, like
other University employees, have contributed
to the University community in various ways. A Working
Group on CUHK Outsourcing Matters has been set up since
August
2012
with a view to formulating an outsourcing
policy. The Working Group, led by Professor Michael Hui,
Pro-Vice-Chancellor, comprised representatives from the
three staff associations/union, Student Union, Postgraduate
Student Association, Colleges, Faculties and administrative
units. With their concerted efforts, an 'Outsourcing Policy
in CUHK' was approved and announced to all Departments/
Units in June
2014
. It marks an important step towards
setting out more clearly the University's position on
outsourcing matters.
The University reckons that while outsourcing may be inevitable
in certain supporting activities and services, it will be kept
to a minimum as far as possible (particularly when cleaning
and security services are involved). Factors other than costs
(e.g. social justice and social responsibilities) should be duly
taken into consideration when engaging service providers.
Meanwhile, a Monitoring Group will be set up to continue to
provide input to the University on outsourcing matters, and a
hotline is in place to provide assistance to outsourced workers
on employment-related and work safety matters when needed.

1. 由學生自行發起的服務學習項目
•同學自行組成小組，提交建議書
•資助金額每項目可高達港幣25,000
元，申請者可同時申請其它資助
2. 由學生發起、社會服務機構協助的服務學習項目

•同學可在社會服務機構的協助下設計活動
•本計劃透過社會服務機構分配所得資助，
