Faculty and PhD Student Mobility Schemes 2016-17 invite applications

The Internationalisation Faculty Mobility Schemes and PhD Student Mobility Schemes aim to promote the international exposure of faculty members and PhD students as well as the development of strategic and research partnerships with overseas universities. Each year, more than $2.5 million is allocated to support over 100 inbound and outbound research visits. The schemes are now inviting applications. Faculty members and PhD students are encouraged to submit their applications soon as the closing date of  8 April 2016 is approaching.

An information session was held at the Faculty of Education this year to promote the schemes. It was warmly received by the professors and students from the Faculty.

A briefing session on PhD Student Mobility Schemes was also organised. Dr. CHENG Siu Pong, one of the past award holders who undertook his research attachment at Harvard University, shared his success tips for applicants. ‘You’re promoting your research idea to your audience – make sure it’s an exciting idea. Identify a hook, the key feature that your proposal hangs off, and then tell a convincing story to link with your purpose of visit.’
